Description (Service) | With funding through United Way Hastings and Prince Edward, the EarlyON Centre offers Community Kitchens, in Bancroft and surrounding areas. The necessary ingredients are provided along with a recipe to the participants and together families create a nutritious meal to take home. Community Kitchens are a fun way to learn new recipes and cooking skills. A budget breakdown is also discussed and provided, in order to ensure that the meals are economical as well as nutritious. Nutrition kits that contain ingredients for a healthy, low cost, easy to prepare meals are distributed through several of our Bancroft playgroups. As well, there is a food table set up that has lots of printed recipes and information available to anyone who is interested! NHCS also has a small emergency food bank available to families who use the services or other folks in the community who are referred by another agency. |
