Description (Service) | To promote interest in and encourage all people to celebrate Irish culture in all aspects. To preserve and transmit Irish music, singing and dance through lectures, concerts, socials, plays and classes in Irish music, language and dance. To serve our community by sponsoring activities emphasizing education, friendship and by supporting the efforts of other local groups. |
Hours | IRISH SESSIONS Irish music sessions are held Wednesdays from 5:30 pm-8:30pm (first hour is a slow session) at the Engineers Hall, 43 Pine Street Bring your whistle, accordion, fiddle, bohdran, flute, guitar... and join the fun. Share Irish tunes you know, learn a few new ones and have some fun. All levels of musicians are welcome. Email info@qics.ca for more information. Printable sheet music is available on our website at www.qics.ca IRISH DANCING Beginner to advanced irish dance classes are held every Thursday evening in Studio 'F' at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada as well as alternating Sundays. Classes are taught by Caitlin Callaghan and Orla Kelly, a TCRG certified teacher from the Kelly School of Irish Dance. Wear comfortable clothes and get ready to have fun. Everyone is welcome and no experience is required— and you do not have to come as a couple.
