Description (Service) | COVID19 (April 2020): Remote services offered; when not possible one-on-one services may be provided with heightened precautions 16-bed Short term Crisis Intervention Shelter for abused women and their children: Provides 24hr telephone support * all calls are confidential, no call display and callers will be directly connected to a worker * Outreach Services available in 5 locations throughout Renfrew County to abused women and their children * Services to children and youth who witness violence * Public Speaking & workshops available to the community * Volunteer Opportunities - recruitment ongoing, see website Family Court Support Worker Program -- information on the family court process * assistance in preparing for family court proceedings (documenting history of abuse, accessing Legal Aid) * referral to specialized services and supports in the community * safety planning * court accompaniment to proceedings when appropriate * Group for men called "Caring Dads" * Transitional Support assists with housing * educational, employment and financial support as well as other social resources that women may need to live independently and securely as valued members of our society * A bilingual Transitional Support Worker is available for clients requesting this service |
