Description (Service) | Dental program that provides free preventive, routine, and emergency dental services for children and youth from low-income families. The program includes regular visits to a licensed dental provider and covers the costs of treatment including: check-ups, cleaning, fillings, x-rays, scaling and urgent or emergency dental care. |

Eligibility | Ages: 17 year(s) and under Youth 17 years and under from low-income households * Emergency and Essential Services: youth 17 years and under with a clinical need; family must be able to show financial hardship |
Application | Visit the website or call Service Ontario for information on how to register. * If the family is covered by Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program, the children 17 and under are automatically enrolled in the Healthy Smiles Ontario program. * The family will receive a Healthy Smiles Ontario dental card in the mail; it must be presented to the dental provider at each dental visit. Emergency and Essential Services Stream: call the Ottawa Public Health Information Line at 613-580-6744 ext 23510 to book a dental screening appointment to determine if the child qualifies. |
