Description (Service) | COVID-19 (1 Apr 2020): Due to COVID19, Planned Parenthood Ottawa is switching to phone-based, virtual services until further notice. * For pregnancy options counselling or information about sexual and reproductive health: call 613-226-3234 x 100 or email ppottawa@ppottawa.ca (client can book a confidential phone counselling session if needed (counselor will call on a blocked or private phone number for 1 hour session, booked 10 am-5 pm)). * For access to supplies, drop by office at 222 Somerset St W where safer sex supplies such as external condoms, internal condoms, dental dams, lubricant, as well as urine pregnancy tests, and bottles of prenatal vitamins will be available outside the door. Supports people in making informed sexual and reproductive health choices * Information and Referral Service: phone-in supportive staff and volunteers * anonymous and confidential service * assists in a non-judgmental manner * Free pregnancy testing, condoms, information packages and pamphlets * Free all-options pregnancy counselling for individuals facing a decision regarding a pregnancy, needing support around a past abortion experience, or looking for in-depth information on contraceptive choices * Pro-choice * Professional Development: Training for volunteers, professionals and the public, including values clarification, consent education, contraception, sexual anatomy, pregnancy options, sexual violence, sexual rights, sexuality throughout the life cycle, sexually transmitted infections, sexual and gender orientation, and more * Community Education: Presentations, workshops, and information sessions to groups in schools, drop-in centers and community programs * provides information tables and kiosks for a variety of groups * Volunteering opportunities * Community Partnership |
