Description (Service) | COVID-19 (23 April 2020) COVID-19 online chat and text service launches for Ottawa women living with violence and abuse available. Text with Unsafe at Home Ottawa 613- 704-5535 or Chat online at unsafeathomeottawa.ca. The crisis support Helpline for abused women is also available 24 hours / 7 days a week. Call 613-745-4818 (English) or call 613-745-3665 (French) or “Fem`aide” 1-877-336-2433 (a support line for francophone women). Call any of the above numbers if you do not feel safe, or if you are experiencing anxiety due to your partner or are in need of support, resources or active listening. This information is regularly updated on their website. Access to support services for abused women * crisis intervention * information and referral * support services (by telephone or in person) * help with emergency transportation or transportation to facilitate links with other community services * support groups * babysitting subsidies * individual counselling * community education for children Children Who Witness Violence program: support group for children and a concurrent group for their mothers Transitional Housing Support program: help to transition from an abusive relationship to safe housing and services |
