Description (Service) | COVID-19 (April 20, 2020): This organisation programs are being affected by COVID-19, refer to their website for most up-to-date information Social Workers and guest presenters offer education, information and support to family members and friends of people who have mental health challenges * meetings are free and open to the community regardless of affiliation with The Royal Schizophrenia Education Series * runs for four consecutive evenings twice per year usually in April and October * the sessions deal with topics such as the Mental Health Act, the hospital system, symptoms, latest treatments, how to help the person with the illness, how to care for oneself, and also community resources Caring for the Caregiver Family Information and Support Groups * sessions offered the first and third Tuesdays of the month beginning January through June * specific roster of topics arranged, including: guest speakers * skill development * opportunities for discussion |
