Description and Services
Description (Service) Volunteer Hospice Visiting service provides: 
* time off/respite for family 
* simple comfort measures 
* support and companionship 
* transportation for errands 
Day Hospice Program offers respite for clients and their caregivers with: 
* social time, guest speakers and activities (crafts or games) 
* light lunch 
* complimentary therapy (reflexology or massage) 
Bereavement Program: adult group * individual peer support
Hours Mon-Thu 8:30 am-4 pm * Fri 8:30 am-3:30 pm 
Day Hospice Program Thu 10 am-3 pm
Areas Served Lanark County
Eligibility Participants: Residents of Lanark County who are living with a life-limiting illness, dying or bereaved 
Volunteers: Individuals 18 years and older interested in supporting people living with a life-limiting illness, those at end-of-life or bereaved
Application Self-referral 
Adult Peer Bereavement Support Groups: please call to register 
Volunteers receive a free 36-hour training course and ongoing continuing education opportunities
Languages English ; Some volunteers speak other languages such as French and German
Fees Program - Day Hospice Program ; Fee assistance available for individuals with a low income ; assistance is provided by Community Home Support Lanark County.
