Description (Service) | COVID-19 (26 Mar 2020): Due to COVID19, groups, workshops and programming is postponed until further notice. Appointments will be rescheduled or conducted by phone, unless deemed urgent by provider(s). Health promotion programs and occupational therapy services, including information about falls prevention * support and referral for individuals and families are available Programs include: * Cooking for Yourself: a small group focused on cooking healthy, small portion meals in an energy efficient way * North End Penguins: a weekly craft and social group * Keep Well: a program of gentle exercises and social/health discussion time * Staywell: a gentle exercise program in the community and summer * line dancing Friendship Blooms: inter-generational program bringing together seniors from the North Kingston community to participate in events such as playing cards, knitting, cooking healthy snacks and special events free of charge * also brings together seniors to share their cooking and knitting skills with children and youth in local schools through cooking and knitting workshops * promotes the sharing of knowledge and skills between the generations and promotes friendship, compassion and understanding between seniors and children |
