Description and Services
Description (Service) Source of support for people with vision loss to have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.

In Ontario, CNIB consists of three organizations:

Vision Loss Rehabilitation Ontario Primary provider of vision loss rehabilitation in Canada funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. * Provides training that enables people who are blind or partially sighted to develop or restore key daily living skills, helping enhance independence, safety and mobility. * Certified specialists work with ophthalmologists, optometrists and other healthcare professionals, providing essential care on a referral basis in homes and communities across Ontario. CNIB Foundation Dependent on charitable funding, provides programs and services that address the social and emotional needs of people with sight loss. * Builds confidence and advocacy skills to ensure our program participants receive the accommodations they need to succeed. * Programs focus on children and youth, as well as adults of working age and seniors – no referral necessary. * Works with the community to advocate for an inclusive society where everyone is welcomed, valued and supported to succeed. Deafblind Services Deafblind Intervenor Services and Literacy Programs, funded primarily by the province on Ontario. * One of a number of organizations that provide programming to empower people who are Deafblind to live as independently as possible in their environment, including in the broader community. Application Self, family and community referrals * Clients need to obtain recent eye report from ophthalmologist or optometrist * Assistance can be provided in obtaining one
