DescriptionCommunity based organization works with the City of Ottawa, diverse communities and individuals to create safer physical and social environments in our neighborhoods, parks, workplaces, recreational pathways, and schools. * During a safety audit process community members walk through an area, street, building, park, noticing what feels safe or unsafe. The findings from this "walkabout" form the basis for an action plan to make the area safer. * Participate in seminars, conferences and in-service training to incorporate the views of women and other vulnerable groups in the design and building of sites.

Aims at empowering women by providing effective safety strategies and support for community members with the following tools and documents:
* The Women's Safety Audit Guide: Designed to help a group identify the issues, organize safety audits and work towards change;
* The Women's Safety Audit Implementation Guide: Research across Canada has shown that, for most groups, acting on their safety audit results can be a challenging process. This guide will develop the social and political skills necessary to achieve significant change;
* Women's Safety Audit Facilitation Training: The Centre can provide information, skills, and resources to help carry out a successful safety audit process;
* Workers in Rural Areas: An informative working document that lays the necessary groundwork for the development of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to assist organizations in addressing these important issues;
* Personal Safety Workshop Manual for diverse women and seniors.
