DescriptionStrengthening the capacity of the community to raise children by providing support, education and resources to parents, caregivers and professionals working with families. 
 
Drop-Ins: For parents, caregivers and children up to six years of age. Circle time, age-appropriate toys, books and equipment, resources for adults, informal consultations with Parent-Child Educator, DVD and toy libraries. No cost. 
 
Growing Up Downtown: Provides drop-in playgroups in the downtown area. A Parent-Child Educator is available to assist families in accessing programs and services and to provide family support. No cost. 
 
Supporting Neighbourhood Caregivers: Delivers basic caregiver education appropriate to newcomers, isolated care providers, individuals with limited literacy, teens and individuals with limited resources. No cost. 
 
Early Literacy Specialists: Offers support in English and French to strengthen early literacy and language development for children from birth to age 6 and their families. The specialists work to provide services, workshops, referrals and appropriate linkages in collaboration with the Ontario Early Years Centres of Eastern Ontario, their satellites and community partners. 
 
Program Effectiveness Data Analysis Coordinators: Offers support throughout the Eastern Ontario region to the Ontario Early Years Centres, their satellites and community partners with regards to program monitoring, tracking, evaluation and development so that parents, caregivers and young children can benefit from evidence-based planning. 
 
Reaching Out: Offers an informal delivery of parenting / caregiving resources, education, support and other key services to families with children from pre-natal to 18 years of age who face barriers and are unable to participate in conventional childcare training and parenting education courses. This service is delivered in the community where young families are found. 
 
Warm line: For parents needing to speak to someone about concerns they have for their child and where to access resources. 
 
Resource Phoneline: For professionals needing information regarding community programs and services. 
 
Parenting courses: On site and in collaboration with our partnering agencies. 
 
Incredible Directory: On-line tool that connects parents, caregivers and professionals with resources in Ottawa. Paper copy format also available for purchase. 
 
Resource Lending Library: Contains hundreds of books and DVDs covering various parenting and child care topics. Can be borrowed for up to two weeks. No cost. 
 
Massage, Music and Movement program: Bond with your baby through massage and music. Learn how to massage your baby from a certified Massage Instructor while learning rhymes and songs to bond with your baby. Must register. Call for more info. 
 
Mom and Baby Group: Drop-in for mothers with infants under 12 months. Meet other mothers and get support and resources from a Parent-Child Educator and special guest speakers. Call for more info. 
 
Lead agency for the Ontario Early Years Literacy and Program Effectiveness Data Analysis Coordination initiatives within Eastern Ontario. Provides Citywide Services for the seven Ontario Early Years Centres in Ottawa.
