Description	Provides emergency shelter in a supportive environment to homeless families or individuals and assistance in obtaining appropriate long term affordable housing. * Ensures referral to appropriate emergency shelters for single, homeless individuals after regular business hours.    The City operates two family shelters:    Carling Site  2980 Carling Ave, Ottawa, K2B 7K2  613-820-9909  Supervisor: Lori Smith-Tinsley    Forward Site  159 Forward Ave, Ottawa, K1Y 1K8  613-722-9495  Supervisor: Richard Seguin

Eligibility	Homeless families and individuals
Application	Contact by phone to request an application for social assistance and referral to a shelter. For ongoing Ontario Works clients during regular business hours, they may contact their Case Coordinator directly for a referral.    After regular business hours, clients can contact 3-1-1 to be housed by the After Hours team.    To put your name on the waiting list of the Social Housing Registry, call 613-526-2088.
