| Description | The Association of French Speaking Jurists of Ontario (AJEFO) speaks for lawyers, judges, personnel of the administration of justice, law professors, law students and others who work at the promotion of access to justice in French and English, the official languages of the courts of Ontario. Mandate and goals * promote the French language in the Ontario judicial system * ensure that both official languages are given equal status in Ontario tribunals * ensure that there are no penalties, delays, obstacles or hesitation in Lawyer’s or the Ontario francophone population’s use of French because of lacunas in the legal apparatus * weave bonds of collaboration with associations and community organizations, universities and postsecondary institutions, AJEFs of Canada and the levels of government with the same objectives * sensitize, inform and educate jurists and the general public about their rights to legal services in their language of choice. * increase recognition of the rights of the French-speaking linguistic minority of Ontario * Ensure that Ontario French language legal services are actively offered and ameliorated Services to members: * The right to speak during annual meetings * The right to vote during annual meetings * Legal precedents in French * Annual professional training * Visibility through a profile page on the AJEFO’s website * L’Expression newsletter and several other communications from the AJEFO * Introduction and information kits for target customers * Member support in accordance with our mandate Other Website: www.CliquezJustice.ca | |||
