| Description | Offers resources and support to community organizations that serve families. Activities include: national research projects * publication of practical resources * regional professional development events * the development of advocacy tools * a quarterly newsletter * a national conference * insurance plans * The www.ParentsMatter.ca site includes many PDF files that offer information on various topics, such as: capacity building information and activities * self esteem * reading and writing * stress management * communicating with children, routines and quality time * play * emotions and expressions * discipline * Also includes information for facilitators and links to various websites concerning children and parenting. * Making Choices Parenting Program Inventory: gives practitioners information about parenting programs so they can make choices that fit their requirements * searchable inventory includes published programs designed for groups and focus primarily on parents of children that are 6 years of age or less. * Consult the Website to select the appropriate program (http://frp.ca/faireunchoixeclaire/about.asp) * The www.WelcomeHere.ca site has multilingual resource sheets for parents and other resources for immigrant parents and those who work with them. | |||
