| Description | A not-for-profit organization that provides comfort and resources to young cancer patients being treated in Eastern Ontario and to those they depend on for strength and support. Co-ordinates the activities of the following support groups, service programs and events: Support Groups: Coffee Talk weekly drop-in * Bereaved parents support group * Workshops/Seminars/Guest Speakers * Smiling Sibling Watercolour Workshop Services: Parking Program, provides parking passes to member parents * Patient Amenities Fund, lessens the financial stress on the family * Cyberkids, provides laptops to patients during the time that they are receiving treatment. Birthday Greetings Carlson Wagonlit Bursary, awards a post-secondary education bursary to a child who has been treated for some form of childhood cancer Events: Christmas Party for members, fundraising events and activities Education: Resources on the child's particular diagnosis, its prognosis, its treatment, its impact on the life of the child and the family * information on resources for the child and the family in school, hospital/clinic, support agency, or government program * information on the daily life with a child and his/her particular diagnosis. | |||
