| Description | Nationwide, community-based, registered charity committed to research, public education and vision health for all Canadians * services and support for people living with vision loss * identification of individual needs and goals * referral to the appropriate services and programs * Supplier of innovative consumer products for people living with vision loss. Orientation and Mobility instruction for independence of movement and safe traveling in indoor and outdoor spaces. Deaf-blind Services: information for people who are deaf-blind through case management * counselling * referral * literacy programs * intervention services * assistive technology Low Vision Services: functional assessment of visual abilities * information and training in the use of low vision devices * education and instruction on how to maximize residual vision Independent Living Skills: skills for daily living with an emphasis on maintaining independence, through self-care and communication skills (i.e. computer training and Braille) Children and Youth Services: comprehensive program of direct services * information resources * parent/peer support * advocacy training for children with vision loss and their families, from birth to school age and beyond.
